Cardiovascular function

• Two Hitachi-Aloka α-10 high resolution ultrasounds for standard echocardiography, tissue Doppler imaging, and vessel imaging (e.g. endothelial function, carotid IMT)
• Two SphygmaCor – pulse wave analyses, arterial stiffness, central blood pressure
• Finometer Pro – non-invasive beat-to-beat blood pressure monitor for acquisition of hemodynamic variables
• WinCPRS Biosignal software used to assess autonomic function
• Hokanson EC-6 Strain Gauge Plethysmography and Rapid Cuff Inflator for determining resistance vessel vasodilatory capacity
• Biopac MP 150 Data Acquisition system with multichannel interface
• Hausmann electronic tilt table
• Vascular Research Tools; automated software to analyze vascular ultrasound images for measures of endothelial function (e.g. flow mediated dilation)
• Aloka Prosound speckle tracking software used to detect cardiac strain rate
• Lower body negative pressure unit – used to assess cardiovascular control mechanisms
• Neck suction/pressure unit – used to assess baroreceptor sensitivity
• Microneurography – used to examine muscle sympathetic nerve activity
